With more than forty years of experience in the field, Dr. Suzanne Simpson is a pioneer and thought leader in competency-based Talent Management. Her unwavering focus has been on developing and implementing competency systems that support reliable, valid, and fair employment decisions and encourage respectful, welcoming, productive, and career-focused work environments.
She has managed, developed, and implemented hundreds of competency frameworks for organizations of all sizes and in a variety of sectors within government, for-profit companies as well as non-profit. She has worked with associations and credentialling bodies to establish standards by which whole sectors are managed. Prestigious international organizations, such as the United Nations, have sought her advice on ways to increase the representation of women in leadership. She is known for her work in police, military, and first responder environments, particularly in relation to defining unbiased competency frameworks.
She holds a PhD in Industrial Organizational Psychology and is a Registered Psychologist in the Province of Ontario, Canada. She has authored an internationally recognized methodology in competency-based management. She has designed and delivered certification training for thousands of HR Professionals around the world. She also taught the Canadian Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation program on Human Resource Planning at Carleton University.
